Design & Architecture
Inspired by the quintessential Australian bush hut, our design sits gently in the landscape.
From behind, it might pass for a simple farm shed. Step closer and you’ll see the detail - precision craftsmanship, high-quality materials, flawless finishes.
It’s small, yet feels vast. Soaring timber-lined ceilings draw your gaze outward, blurring the edges between inside and out.
Our interiors take cues from the meeting point of Scandinavian and Japanese design - minimal lines, quiet simplicity - framing what nature has to offer. Here, that’s Lake Eildon and the rolling hills that cradle it.
High Performance Design
Your comfort, by design.
These Spaces don’t just look good - they run hot (and cold) better than 95% of homes in the country.
Translation? Warm in winter. Cool in summer. Air so clean you’ll wonder what you’ve been breathing at home. Walls that keep the noise out, or in - your call.
You’ll sleep harder. Wake fresher. And know you’ve done it all without chewing through the planet.
High-performance is hard to explain. Easier to feel. Step inside and you’ll get it.
Why it feels different here
Our Spaces are built on Passive House principles — the gold standard in modern design.
In plain English? They hold their temperature without chewing through power. No wild swings, no blasting the air-con, no freezing nights under three doonas. Just consistent comfort, all day, all year.
-
Our Space is highly insulated, bosting thermal comfort, are quiet and energy efficient.
We use Structurally Insulated Panels - a foam core sandwiched between 12mm Oriental Strand Board.
Our floors and roof panels are 215mm thick, and walls 115mm - R5.8 and R3.26 respectfully…for those who care about the numbers.
-
Air and weather tightness are key when creating comfort - we go well beyond standard practice.
We use industry leading products like Pro Clima’s building wraps to eliminate weak points where air could enter or escape. Combined with a lot of love and care through the construction process, the result is a Space that is truly airtight.
No nasty cold draft in winter. Or condensation on the inside surface of our windows. Just a stable comfortable environment year-round
For those who care about the numbers: our blower door test came in at 2.8 air changes - not passive house, but an impressive result for a 15m2 dwelling.
-
Windows are the weak point in most buildings.
We partner with BINQ - the leading high-performance window manufacturer in Australia.
Our double glazed windows deliver superior thermal and sound insulation, and are completely airtight.
You’ll know the difference the moment you close our slide door.
For the numbers guys and gals - U values on our windows and doors? Between 1.5 and 1.7.
-
Put simply, we reduce the weak points in our structure where heat can escape. Creating an optimal internal temperature all year round.
How do we do it? we select materials that minimise heat conduction.
-
Basically, a fresh supply of air is constantly being circulated through the space via the HRV (heat recovery ventilation system). This is a necessary system due to the other measures we've taken to reduce any weak points of the structure that prevent heat from escaping.
The benefits include improved air quality, reduction of allergens and mitigates mould.
